The Young Christian Workers (YCW) is for YOUNG PEOPLE!
YCW
- EDUCATES, REPRESENTS, and provides SERVICES for young adults
- Operates autonomously FOR, BY AND WITH young people
- Part of an INTERNATIONAL youth movement
The YCW seeks to ORGANISE, EDUCATE and EMPOWER young people to be a positive change within their own lives and the community.
The type of change we make is informed by our VALUES, BELIEFS AND FAITH.
The YCW believes that both personal and collective ACTION is the starting point for building justice, dignity and harmony.
How do we do this?
The Young Christian Workers believe that each young worker should be able to live and work in dignified conditions and be able to find value and meaning in their work.
It is the YCW's goal that each young worker be able to assume responsibility for finding solutions to their situations at the local, national, and international levels, to create a better world for all young workers using the SEE, JUDGE, ACT method.
The YCW use the following nine questions formally or informally to understand our situations and to find the YCW solution.
SEE
What exactly is happening?
What is this doing to people? (the consequences)
Why is this happening? (the causes)
JUDGE
What do you think about all this?
What do you think should be happening?
What does your faith say?
ACT
What exactly is it that you want to change? (long-term goal)
What action are you going to take now? (short-term goal)
Who can you involve in your action?
