Commemorative Dinner

27th November 2007 by Sarah Lentern

On 10th November, Parramatta YCW celebrated 50 years of international coordination with a special dinner to mark the occasion. It also marked the 40th anniversary of the death of Cardinal Joseph Cardijn, the founder of the YCW.

The dinner was organized by our social team and was a great success. We enjoyed a delicious meal which was catered from the YWCA’s community enterprise, Yummy Catering and heard from Bishop Kevin Manning, Ms Sandie Cornish and a member of our social team, Brendon Vella.

As we reflected on our movement over the evening it was a great chance for people to come together and celebrate the achievements of the YCW in the past and look towards what we may achieve in the future.

Thanks to the Social team; Anastacia, Brendon, Louise and Sharmila for all their hard work on this great event.

World Youth Day - Real Life Survey

The Australian YCW and YCS have developed the Real Life Survey to help young people think about their lives and what they care about as part of the preparation for World Youth Day.

This information will be collected and will form the basis of a proposed youth forum during World Youth Day Week, where young people will see the reality of their lives, judge it in light of their faith and find out how they can take action.
