The YCW works to create a society, which actively supports, respects and values the God given dignity of each person. We will consciously uphold basic human rights, especially the right to meaningful and just work. We will educate for global awareness and solidarity. Through taking action and reviewing in our communities, young people will discover the deepest meaning and mission of their lives.

FORMATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE

The fundamental objectives of the YCW is that all young people:

  • Discover the deepest meaning in their lives
  • Live in accordance with their personal and collective dignity
  • Assume responsibility for finding solutions to their situations at the local, national and international level

These are the underlying principles of Formation of Young People projects.

The YCW is in the process of developing a Formation Program that engages young workers and provides them with opportunities to reflect on their lives, confront their or societal values and develop their sense of mission.

The program will conduct a variety of survey and develop analysis on a number of topical issues such as;

  • Consumerism
  • Climate Control
  • Relationships
  • War on Terror
  • Democracy
  • Popular Music

How can you get involved?

  • Gathering spaces
  • World Youth Day
  • Weekend retreats
  • Discussion groups
  • Study nights

If you would like more information on the Formation Program contact your local YCW office or Sarah Taylor at sarah.taylor@ycw.org.au
