Young Christian Workers
What do we do

We achieve our greater goals as a sum of our smaller actions. On a national level, we organise these actions into our national campaign.

The YCW campaigns respond directly to what young people experience around Australia. The current national campaigns focus is:

• FINDING MEANING, MAKING A DIFFERENCE – WORK, LIFE, FAITH, ACTION!

YCW Campaign for 2010 – 2012

Delegates at the Council shared their experiences of life and work to draft the national plan of action and develop strategies for the next two years. These include providing opportunities for young people to review their lives and work, running workshops, representing the reflections and views of young workers at all levels of the Church, government and unions, and exploring the spirituality of work and life.

We, as the AYCW, believe that our campaign is based upon the beliefs and values of our founder, Joseph Cardijn. He emphasised over and over that "young people are worth more than all the gold in the world." We try to live out that belief in our lives and in our solidarity with young workers across the globe. Only if we stand together in reverence to our God given dignity of each other and for our earth, can we achieve our goals as Young Christian Workers.

In 2011, the AYCW National Team work together and in their own communities to bring about balance in our lives, and to live out our social vision through reviewing in communities and taking collective action.
